Ohio County only has 6,000 residents. Lane works as an attorney, economic development official, professor at Ivy Tech, and we are pretty sure if asked, he would drive a snow plow or sweep a town street. Episode 35 of Boss Hog of Liberty is our first episode with a State Representative. Jeremiah Morrell and Dakota Davis are joined this week by one of our new rotating co-hosts, Danny Morrell. Danny, Chase Peyton, and Kade Koger are now officially in the lineup as co-hosts of the program. State Representative Melanie Wright joins us to talk about the upcoming legislative session. We discuss the committees she serves on, her involvement with human trafficking legislation and the involvement of the federal government in education. Melanie is a public school teacher and represents portions of Madison and Delaware Counties in Indiana. Melanie is a Democrat in a very rural and mostly conservative district. In depth conversations with Justin about state gas taxes, why they were added, and the reasons they are troubling. The potential of tolling Indiana’s interstates is also discussed and the 53 billion dollars that the government is considering raising over 30 years by doing so. Token socialist Darrin Jacobs makes his triumphant appearance on the program again. Everyone takes the Advocates world’s smallest political quiz. Clay turns out to be a libertarian. We focused on Jim Lucas’s recent proposal for licensing the 1st amendment in Indiana, using the same language as is in place for the 2nd amendment. The guys discussed and update in Indiana hunting regulations which accidentally banned rifles on public ground for this upcoming deer season. It is noted that Phyllis Klosinski tried to warn everyone about this possibility when we had a ballot question about hunting in the last election. Episode 25 is a celebratory episode of Boss Hog of Liberty! The silver anniversary show. Jeremiah Morrell and Dakota Davis are joined by the most listened to guest in the history of the show, Cat Anagnos. Audrey Jo Peavie was scheduled to join us but called in sick at the last moment. Jeremiah’s baby brother Danny Morrell got off the couch and joined in progress. The cast discussed their weekend camping trip, a possible tattoo for Jeremiah if the listeners love us enough, and the incredible Garth Brooks concert experience. Danny arrives and Dakota has him locked out. Danny scales a fence, gun in hand and tries to break in during the show. Dakota reports on a story involving a Watermelon and some firefighters in Detroit. Episode 23 of the Boss Hog of Liberty Podcast is our long awaited episode with City Councilman Aaron Dicken. Jeremiah Morrell and Dakota Davis are joined by regular co-host Clay Morgan. Aaron started things off on the right foot, by bringing a gift for the new studio. Dakota spends most of his time beating councilman Dicken into accepting that by merely showing up at a city council meeting, he got the council do drop the hated smoking ban. We finally got some answers on the future of 14th street and the future of downtown New Castle. Aaron was non-committal about what happens when Jeremiah flushes his toilets. Jeremiah Morrell and Dakota Davis are back for another episode of Boss Hog of Liberty. The guys are joined by Dakota’s fiancé, Audrey Jo Peavie, and the Ancestry kits have arrived. They fumble through attempting to take the test. Dakota insists he is 100% pure, whatever that means. There have also been some stories about a fellow in Georgia who was travelling with over $30,000 in cash and it was confiscated under civil asset forfeiture rules. They dissect that issue, and Dakota shares the story of when he bought his house with cash. Real actual cash…Luckily he was not stopped on the way to the closing table!
